Description
ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police have released the photo of a man who they say defrauded a downtown Elmhurst store out of money.
According to police, the man told an employee of Get Bazzy, 152 N. York St., that he was an acquaintance of the business owner and that he needed cash for a tow truck. A police report indicated that the man said his cousin was in an accident.
The clerk handed the man money from the register, but later learned the man's story was a scam, police said. The incident happpened about 4 p.m. Sunday.
The suspect was described as white, 45 to 50 years old, 5-foot-9, 210 pounds and bald.
Police ask that anyone with information about the case to call them at 630-530-3050.
