The Village of Skokie is accepting applications for the position of full time Maintenance Worker I in our Public Works Department. In this role you will work as a member of the street & alley division crew performing such tasks as pavement maintenance and repair, landscaping maintenance of public areas, alley maintenance, tree removal & maintenance, as well as snow & ice control functions of the department; Performs other duties as assigned. High School diploma or equivalent required; Must possess a valid Driver’s License, with the ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 90 days of employment; Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions; Practical experience with tools used for maintenance and general construction helpful; Must be able to follow all safety rules of the Village; Individuals in this position are subject to random alcohol and drug testing; Physical examination and drug testing required prior to employment. Annualized starting salary range: $65,211 - $71,895 Generous benefits package includes medical, dental & life insurance; IMRF retirement pension plan; paid vacation days, sick days, and holidays in the first year; 457(b) retirement savings plan.
