OREGON CITY, OR — A married couple from Gladstone were charged Wednesday with multiple counts in a case of fentanyl trafficking from Clackmas County to central Oregon, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team said Friday. Johnny Stavrakis, 39, was charged with unlawful possession, manufacture and attempted distribution of a schedule II substance (fentanyl); giving false information to a peace officer; violating parole and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to jail records. Stavrakis' wife, Martha Stavrakis, 42, was charged with unlawful possession, manufacture and attempted distribution of a schedule II substance (fentanyl) and hindering prosecution, jail records showed. Johnny Stavrakis was held on $65,000 bail in the Deschutes County Jail. Martha Stavrakis was released. The couple were arrested on Oregon state Highway 97 near Redmond Wednesday night after an Oregon State Police K-9 detected a controlled substance in the couple's 2022 Honda during a traffic stop, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team said. The couple provided false names and were uncooperative, the team said. Officers searched the car and seized tablets consisting of fentanyl and other drugs, as well as other evidence of drug sales, the team said.
