Press release from the City of Greensboro: 06/03/2022 8:19 AM The City had a 16-inch water main break on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at approximately 6 am today. Crews are currently isolating the break. The Greensboro Police Department has the road closed from Patton Avenue to Highway 40/85. However, the exits are open, allowing motorists to get on and off the highway. The Forest Oaks area, along with 10 business including Hall Tire, Ocean Blue Seafood, and Burger King on Martin Luther King, are without service. The Fresenius Kidney Care South Greensboro on Pleasant Garden Road and Industrial Avenue has stopped morning treatments. Water service is expected to be restored and the road reopened by 8 am Saturday, June 4. Water crews are on site and will continue to work non-stop until repairs are complete and service has been restored. The repair work will impact the GTA bus route. Signs and traffic cones are in place and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the area or expect delays traveling through the work zone.
