The "Ring of Honor" is a display of roughly 100 jerseys hanging in the rotunda at the Hall of Fame that celebrate the accomplishments of young female athletes from across the nation and will now feature Valentine's jersey for the next year. Past players honored include: Candace Parker, Sue Bird, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart, and Aja Wilson. "We are so excited and proud of Nya for being selected to have her Shelton State jersey hang in the WBHOF," Lady Bucs coach Madonna Thompson said. "We will get the chance to see the jersey this fall as we all travel to a tournament in Tennessee. To be selected is a huge honor and accomplishment to add to Nya's resume, and I can't wait to see what else she accomplishes while at Shelton State." A product of McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Valentine is set to returning for the 2022-23 season as a sophomore. During the 2021-22 campaign, Valentine averaged 14 points a game for the Lady Bucs from the point guard position, helping her team to a 29-2 overall record and an undefeated mark in ACCC play.
