Anyone else experienced a spike in your water bill following the installation of the new 'SMART' water meter? My historical usage was less than a thousand gallons per billing cycle, imagine my shock when my May billing showed a thirty nine THOUSAND gallon usage, and a few days later another nine THOUSAND gallons. Where did the water go...? The water company only response you've got a leak, your toilet is running etc. No so, no leaks. To be fair the water co did come out and silently viewed the meter and pronounced, NO USUAGE showing currently on meeter. Had my plumber check the system, no leaks.Again visited the water co, as luck would have it I got the same Clerk who had the same limited interest and could only imply, "you've got a leal" we don't check your plumbing. Was not impressed with the plumbers report, or my statement we had done a number of dye test on the toilet. After two hours of back and forth this fine clerk finally got her supervisor to tell me you've got a leak. After repeating the same story to her she said the company requires we do it all again.She set up an appointment for another meter inspection that I can be present and then we do the whole thing over again.(yeah I know that's the definition of an idiot, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results).But I have to play their game. I've researched these new meters and sounds like this is a chronic problem that the Louisville Water Company should have full knowledge of.
