Basic Guinea pig care advice/Care * What breed do you want? Do you care? Do you even know there are 13+ breeds avail for you? * Don't buy those pet store cages, they need GRIDS. These aren't mice or hamsters, they need a lot of room to run & popcorn. YES POPCORN. * Never use Cedar chips for bedding with Guinea Pigs, it will kill them. Use fleece, pee pads or paper shredding. Fleece is the best option to avoid Bumble foot (do your research) * Always feed daily Timothy Hay of your choice, Babies can eat Alfalfa Hay for 6 Weeks of age then Timothy Hay * Top 3 food brands I recommend: Stanley Premium Hay 60# compressed, Kay-Tee & Ox Bow * Selling animals is prohibited but Re-homing is allowed with a small fee if you see fit. * Guinea Pigs in Orlando, FL are plenty but older not babies, Ask questions. If you aren't educated don't expect the owner to be. * Get an Exotic Vet not a regular vet. All Vets aren't educated the same. Very very important If you are getting a Guinea Pig do as much research as possible, ask questions and get your supplies now BEFORE you start looking.
