You sound like a kid that listened in class long enough to pick up one thought and fell asleep for the rest of the class.
Leaders come in all shapes and sizes.
People that enter into Politics to join our legislative bodies generally have some leadership qualities.
Not all that make it have leadership qualities and become followers. Hopefully the ones that don't make the grade get voted out. Again that doesn't always happen - we have many still seated in their perspective offices. Many long overdue to be out but somehow they keep getting re elected.
That's the voters' fault. Then you have rubber stamps for whatever party they belong to.
You're right about having our elected officials voting in the leadership of the Senate and Congress.
Just like every other election -- leaders are picked - temporary leaders - doesn't mean there aren't any other people with "leadership " qualities.
People I know want people with leadership qualities in Government. Some of these people take leadership roles in heading committees and other leadership roles in something as complicated as our government.
