Mid-size Independent Auto Dealership is Seattle looking to hire a Service & Reconditioning Manager to oversee our inventory reconditioning department. As a dealer, we focus on specialty off road vehicles and late model pre-owned cars. We pride ourselves in having some of the best client reviews in the business and a fleet of the cleanest, best-condition pre-owned automobiles available. Pre-owned automobiles are purchased by a dealer either from clients when the vehicle is traded in, from clients directly "off the street", or from auto auctions throughout the country. This position will lead a team of three to: -Receive these vehicles into inventory -Perform visual inspections to judge is the vehicle is worthy of retail sale -Decide what repairs & maintenance the vehicle needs to become "retail-ready" -Arrange for vehicles to and from respective venders (repair shops, collision shops) -Maintain relationships with vendors and schedule times for vehicles to get these repairs -Order parts and necessities for vehicles -And ultimately schedule for auto detail & photography for marketing. *Some basic automotive knowledge and repair capability will be useful *Valid WA State Driver License required This manager will also oversee an employee charged with cleaning and care of the dealership facility and the vehicles in inventory, as well as another "Assistant Manager" who will fill in when Manager is offsite or days off. While minimal in staff oversight, the continued training and management of these other individuals is key to a smooth and efficient Reconditioning Department. The success of the dealership in selling cars is very reliant on an efficient and effective service & reconditioning process. The person who fills this position will be very important to ownership. Previous experience desired can vary, but may include: -Automotive Service Writing -Automotive Mechanic -Lube Technician (Management) -Automotive Sales or Management -Auto Parts Sales & Ordering -Labor Management Work schedule will be 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. This is NOT a difficult job, but it requires solid work ethic and initiative to do it well, in addition to an ability to work together with fellow teammates and LEADING BY EXAMPLE.
