PLEASANTON, CA — Two men have been arrested in connection with a burglary at a Pleasanton gas station, which resulted in the theft of lottery tickets and other items. Joseph Salcido, 46, and Hector Amparo, 47, were arrested hours later in San Joaquin County, where they were booked into San Joaquin County jail, the Pleasanton Police Department said in a news release. The burglary occurred around 5 a.m. Dec. 23 at the Shell gas station at 3790 Hopyard Road. Salcido and Amparo shattered a window, entered the store and headed to a California State Lottery display case, which was forcibly removed from the counter, police said. They stole many lottery ticket rolls, among other things, and fled before officers arrived, police said. Later that morning, Pleasanton police said officers got a call from the Ripon Police Department in the San Joaquin Valley. Ripon police said they arrested three people who had stolen property linked to a commercial burglary in Pleasanton, including lottery tickets from the gas station.
