Our aim was to recreate that sound, and to give RUSH fans and first-timers alike an opportunity to connect with the songs and sounds that for many of us have played a role in our development not just as music-lovers, but as human beings. When the RUSH Collective first came together, in addition to bonding over the role RUSH music has played in each of our coming-of-ages, we talked about how mesmerized we were at the various RUSH shows we had attended over the decades, and how incredibly – more like insanely – tight those shows were. The fact that the group – three friggin’ people! – could create those sounds, with that level of complexity, individual musicianship, time-changes, just blew us away. So, the five of us set out to try and get as close to that as possible so that fans could sing, air-drum or air-guitar right along with us, note for note. We call ourselves a Collective because it takes teamwork to pull off these RUSH hits, and our repertoire includes all of the classics spanning their decades-long run. We are Rich Ray (vocals - Superunknown Soundgarden Tribute, Jukebox Heroes Foreigner Tribute), Steve Adams (guitar - formerly of Ramble On Led Zeppelin Tribute), Kevin Burkhart (keyboards - Jennifer Batten, Notorious Duran Duran Tribute), Jeff Langston (bass - Rachel Taylor Brown, Red Bird) and Andrew Morris (drums). With the profoundly sad passing of RUSH's drummer Neal Peart in 2020, it became clear to us that there's never been a more important time for RUSH music to be played loud, live and accurate-to-recording.
