Open to Middle School and High School teachers, Brandi LeRoy will lead this day-long session for educators looking to integrate GIS into their curriculum on Thursday, August 18, from 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Brandi LeRoy is a nationally certified educator who teaches at Bangor High School and the University of Maine at Augusta. This event will be held in-person in the Cohen Educational Center, and lunch will be provided. Registration is free, and this workshop is limited to 25 participants. About the Presenter Brandi LeRoy graduated from the University of Maine at Machias with a BA in History/Secondary Education and has a Masters in Instructional Technology from the University of Maine. Brandi taught high school History and English for a combined total of 10 years, and from there she has dedicated herself to GIS education. Brandi currently teaches at Bangor High School, bringing GIS to her social studies students and working with the Science Department to add a GIS component in their curriculum. Brandi also teaches the course "Our Digital World" at the University of Maine at Machias. Some of Brandi LeRoy's certifications include: Advanced Placement for Advanced Placement US History and Human Geography, National Geographic Certified Educator and Phase 1 certification facilitator, and GeoSpatial Technology Educators Certification.
