I believe that both Nature connection and somatic based practices, offer us a path towards global and individual healing. Nature embodied is a workshop that combines these two modalities and seeks to create a space where we can connect with the body, and earth, and gently approach whatever is asking to be seen and allow the space for solutions and resolutions to arise.
Trauma and implicit memories are stored in the body and when left untended, may negatively impact our future. In order to obtain lasting resolution from past pains and mistakes made, we need to involve the body.
We need to take time to slow down and pay attention to the messages being communicated to us through sensation and listen for guidance on how we can begin to digest and transform any stuck energy from challenging experiences. Spending time in forested areas has been scientifically proven to assist us in feeling calm, grounded, present and held, and is therefore, the ideal space to approach this necessary work.
Nature is a reliable co-regulator and over time, we can cultivate a reciprocal relationship with Nature to lean on the healing forces available when we feel unsafe or dis-regulated. If we feel scared, lost, or out of control in some way, we can tune into the pace of nature and be gently guided back into a more calm and peaceful state.
Nature is a mirror and spending mindful time outdoors allows us to remember the fullness of who we are.
