Man Knifed On Train Near Atlantic Avenue Station, Police Say

BROOKLYN, NY — A subway rider was repeatedly knifed in the head and body by a man who picked a fight with him on a Park Slope-bound train, police said. What started as a verbal fight turned violent about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 on a 3 train approaching the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays subway station, according to the NYPD. The man walked up to a 43-year-old male subway rider and started to argue with him before pulling out a knife and stabbing the victim repeatedly in the head and body, the NYPD said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said. The attacker, meanwhile, ran off the train at the Atlantic Avenue subway station and hasn't been seen since, said police, who were still looking for him as of this week. The NYPD described the assailant as a 20-25 year old man who is 6-feet tall. He was last seen wearing a gray zip up sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black boots and a black Supreme hat, police said.
