South Cook in connection with IESA is providing a Special Educator Boot Camp for special educators with 0-2 years of experience. This is a free opportunity for our districts. The Boot Camp will be held on August 9th and 10th from 8:00-3:30 at South Cook with monthly PLC sessions held virtually after school throughout the school year. Participants will receive PD in the following areas: Differentiation and Inclusive PracticesHow to write SMART IEP goalsProgress MonitoringHow to run an IEP meetingHow to collaborate with colleagues in your building (i.e. General Ed Teachers, paraprofessionals, related service personnel, etc.)How to communicate effectively with familiesOverview of FBA and BIPTrauma-Informed practicesOverview of Co-teachingAccommodations vs ModificationsScheduling for multi-grade, multi-subject and multi-disability
