Press release from the Lentz Campaign: June 2, 2022 Republican Kerry Lentz has declared her candidacy for the 85th General Assembly District - representing Wallingford. Kerry was unanimously endorsed by the Wallingford Republican Town Committee and enthusiastically accepted the nomination. "I'm not a politician by trade and I think that will resonate with my fellow community members. I'm out here as a concerned parent and resident for the condition of our state and how it continues to negatively impact Wallingford," Lentz said. "I look forward to taking everyone's voices to Hartford and fighting to preserve our liberties and the community we love so much." Kerry Lentz resides on the east side of Wallingford with her husband of 17 years and two children who will be attending Engineering and Science University Magnet (ESUMS) and Dag Hammarskjöld Middle Schools. Kerry is running on a platform fashioned from her own experiences as a life-long Wallingford resident, mother, partner, homeowner, and business woman. "As a lifetime resident of this amazing community we call home, and a business woman with a background in accounting, I've always recognized that part of Wallingford's appeal is it's affordability; and that is why I will fight to ensure Wallingford residents are able to continue to call our great town home." Lentz continued with, "As a woman, I am proud to support bodily autonomy, and parental rights, and our freedom to choose what is best for our bodies. I will also work to expand vital mental health services and bolster public safety. As a mother I am extremely concerned at the current condition our youth are in and will work tirelessly to provide the help needed to help these young men and women right their paths."
