Description
BOSTON — Two Green Line trains collided near Government Center Wednesday night, sending three operators to a nearby hospital, according to the MBTA.
A two-car train with 20-25 passengers aboard struck an empty two-car train around 9:20 p.m., MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo told Patch. No passengers were treated for injuries.
Three MBTA Green Line operators were taken to Mass. General Hospital for their injuries, Pesaturo said.
Both trains were derailed in the crash, but one has since been re-railed, multiple reports say.
The MBTA is advising passengers to use the Orange Line to connect to the Blue Line at State or the Red Line at Downtown Crossing. Blue Line trains are bypassing Government Center until further notice.
