BOSTON — Two manhole explosions were reported by the Boston police in downtown Boston Thursday morning, sending one person to the hospital. Crews arrived on the scene after receiving reports of a manhole explosions or fire near Federal and High streets in Boston's Financial District around 8:40 a.m. "We currently have units on scene at High Street for manhole explosions," Boston EMS tweeted. "At this time, 1 patient has been transported to Tufts via an advanced life support." According to the Boston Fire Department, the two manhole fires shattered the window of the building at 10 High Street before that building and 175 Federal Street were evacuated. Boston police issued a traffic advisory, saying street closures were in effect and that pedestrian and vehicular traffic would be impared for an undisclosed amount of time. No additional information was immediately available.
