Press release from Belmont Public Schools:
June 1, 2022
Belmont Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) invites you to attend our next Parent Information Session (PIS). This Parent Information Session and workshop will be held via ZOOM.
Let's face it: Our children are spending more time than ever online and it's nearly impossible to keep them away from the Internet. Between times of virtual learning, streaming videos on YouTube, social networking sites like Facebook or Instagram, and online gaming, there's access at every turn. And as a parent, it should be your priority to keep your kids safe while there online.
But do we actually know what they are doing? And if not, how can we keep them safe from digital harm?
Knowledge is power: Steve Mazzola, Belmont Public School's director of technology will be presenting so you can learn everything you need to know to be your kids' digital safety superhero.
You won't always be able to control how your kids use the Internet and what sort of online behaviors they participate in, but being proactive and keeping open dialogue will go a long way. Now, as we end the school year and enjoy the summer vacation, is the perfect time to influence how your children approach the web.
