Danbury Police Torch Run Friday: Expect Traffic Delays

DANBURY, CT — The police are warning residents to expect minor traffic delays on Friday as the annual Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Connecticut races through the city. At about 9:50 a.m., Danbury cops will be getting the hand-off from their Brookfield colleagues at the KFC on Federal Road, heading southbound. Circa 10:15 a.m., the runners will travel westbound on White Street to Crosby Street and turn south onto Main Street at 10:25 a.m. The officers will continue southbound on Main Street, turning eastbound on South Street at around 10:40 a.m. Runners will continue on South Street to the Bethel line, where they plan to hand the torch over to the Bethel Police Department at 10:50 a.m. Donations may be pledged online here.
