BROOKFIELD, CT — The police are warning residents to expect traffic delays on Friday as the annual Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Connecticut races through town. Expect slow moving traffic on Federal Road beginning at approximately 08:30 a.m., the Brookfield Police Department has advised. Brookfield cops will be getting the hand-off from their New Milford colleagues at Faith Church, 600 Danbury Road in New Milford. From there, Brookfield runners will carry the torch south on Federal Road towards KFC. There, the Danbury Police Department will be taking over the torch and running it to the Bethel PD. The run ends at Harley-Davidson of Danbury, at 51 Federal Road, after about six-and-a-half miles. Donations may be pledged online here.
