BETHEL, CT — Police charged a man with weapon offenses after they say he pointed a gun at another person and fired two shots inside a Bethel residence.
Around 7:00 on Friday morning, the Bethel Police Department received a complaint that Wilfredo Diaz, 67, had fired the shots inside a residence. The victim was not hit by any of the gunfire.
Diaz had left the residence before officers arrived, but police were able to later contact him, and he agreed to meet with them.

Police charged Diaz with two counts of illegal discharge of a firearm, first-degree unlawful restraint, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree threatening, and disorderly conduct.
Diaz was held on a $500,000 bond and scheduled to appear before Danbury Superior Court on May 31.
