ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Prince George's County man drowned near Annapolis on Memorial Day weekend, reports said.
Relatives told officers that they were out fishing Sunday when the victim jumped into the Chesapeake Bay to cool off. The man was then swept away by the current, WTOP reported.
WMAR said passengers on another boat found the 43-year-old victim, pulled him from the water and brought him to shore.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police heard about the rescue around 12:30 p.m. WJZ said the officers performed life-saving measures until medics arrived, but emergency crews pronounced the man dead.
