Here are the top stories in New Orleans today: This week, the DA's Office announced a grand jury indictment for four 2nd degree murder charges for crimes across New Orleans over the past two years. The city of NOLA has a grand jury convene each week to "secure indictments against serious offenders and for justice to be delivered" according to a statement from DA Jason Williams. (WGNO New Orleans) Mayor Cantrell's employee retention pay plan was rebuffed by the Louisiana Department of Justice who claims her reasoning behind the increased pay for police officers, paramedics, mechanics and other jobs with high turnover rates, is unconstitutional. The Department feels that the "unearned payment or bonus" aspect of this pay increase for the purpose of lowering the turnover rates goes against the constitution and that "retention pay must be deserved." (WDSU New Orleans) Members of the Morris Jeff High School community gathered for a second line in Tuba Fats Square to support the families and victims of the High School Graduation shooting. An 80-year-old woman came to watch her grandson graduate on Tuesday at Xavier University, and was hit by a stray bullet just after the ceremony. A crowd of over a hundred people came out to second lie though Treme for her and the other victims.
