Description

Just moved here in Lebanon from out of state. Hopin' to find some players. I've been in music since the early sixties. I can and do play about everything, mostly on bass, but I'm excellent on guitar, as well as lap steel. Slide and resonator, too. I've got my emotive content well-focused on acoustic guitar so those tunes are also open to us. I am retired with lots of time on my hands. I have professional equipment of all types and a solid ride. I play music every day, a lot. By myself. I have a repertoire of about 4200 songs. I play about 100 a day, but, man, I miss the camaraderie, the "groove", the stage lights blinding you for the whole first set. And, the eyes of the people as they fill the dance floor, seeking to become part of your moment. I’ve played bass professionally for about 40 years. But, I started out on guitar. I guess I got a pretty early start. I got my first guitar and amp when I was seven. Joined a garage band that day, too. Had three girlfriends and a drug habit by the weekend. My life’s longest relationship has been with the music. I usually play a song list or two a day for head, hands, and heart. I’m an well-seasoned show band musician. I toured about 15 years on the east coast resort circuit with some pretty big outfits We played up and down the big hotel and concert circuit for a lot of years. The last ten or so years, I’ve played with a lot of out-of-town bands. Some good, some better. I used to think it was friendships that mattered. But, really, … the only thing that makes it worth it is the stage time. And, that don’t pop a vein unless you’re really good together. You can play to an audience, or you can own them. I choose number two, thank you. Now, I started playing when I was just an innocent lad. You know, all those big name bands (50's, 60's, etc.). But, through the years, I’ve kept updating my song lists and styles. I play jazz and blues with my friends. But, on the stage, you’re getting paid for a visual, as well as, audio sensation. THAT’S where my heart is! Cause I’m an entertainer. As time went by (and I got tired of jumping off the amplifiers), I focused more on my bass work. All the standard genres; Bluesy jazz and jazzy blues; that kind of thing. I’ve even done some keyboard work, but nothin that’d bring tears to your eyes. Lately, just the last five or ten years, I’ve been throwing in some mandolin, banjo, dobro, and lap steel, too. Send me a song list. I’d love to come out and play with you.
