This will be a fun hike where we botanize, discover and learn about our native pollinators and wildflowers. Located in an interesting habitat that is sandy and dry now but will be wet during the rainy season.
Wrapping up the last day of National Pollinator Week, join Environmental Steward and Master Gardener- CJ McCartney on the hunt for wildflowers that attract our native pollinators. Learn about wildflowers and other interesting plants that grow in the mesic flatwoods of North Jupiter Flatwoods Natural Area. Help ID and document the native plants that we find in the Inaturalist app.
This exploration will be at North Jupiter Flatwoods Natural Area in the northwest corner of Jupiter Community Park-3377 Church Street, Jupiter. The hike will cover approximately 1.5 miles of primitive trails that will take us to an overlook of a marsh area full of aquatic plants and airplants.
Please bring water, appropriate clothing (hat, hiking shoes/boots, long-sleeved shirts and pants for bugs). Restroom facilities are located within Jupiter Community Park.
