THIS IS A MULTI-DAY VOLUNTEER EVENT. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REGISTER FOR THE DAY OR DAYS YOU PLAN TO ATTEND, AND WHETHER YOU WILL BE CAMPING AT COLUMBINE CORRALS. Join the Sky Islands Trail Stewards, Coronado National Forest (Safford District), the Gila Valley Adventure Club, and the Gila Valley Hiking Club for a weekend of trail maintenance on Clark Peak Trail on Mt. Graham! Starting at an elevation of 9,000 feet, Clark Peak is one of the highest trails in the Pinalenos and offers stunning views and cool temps. Lunch on Saturday will be donated, courtesy of the Graham County Chamber of Commerce and a local restaurant. For those who want to camp, we'll have free camping available at Columbine Corrals Campground the nights of Friday 7/15 and Saturday 7/16. Campground info is HERE. No trail maintenance experience is needed. Tools will be provided. Head and eye protection is required; bring a hard hat or bike helmet if you have one. Loaners are available if needed. Volunteers should be comfortable hiking for several miles at elevation and ready for mountain inclement weather which could include wind and rain. We'll meet at the Clark Peak trailhead at9:00 AM each morning and plan on being back at the trailhead by 1:00 PM or so. Saturday lunch will be at 1:00 PM. Info and directions are HERE. PLEASE NOTE: THE MAP LOCATION IS INCORRECT. WE ARE MEETING AT THE CLARK PEAK TRAILHEAD. Volunteers need to bring: Camping gear and food for the weekend (drinking water is available at camp).Appropriate clothing for temps ranging from high 80's to low 40's (mountain weather).Work gloves, head protection, eye protection.Trail shoes or hiking boots, a pack, and bladder/bottles that can carry min. 3 liters of water.Questions?
