YARDLEY, PA — The Homeowners Association's Board of Directors in Yardley has set up a fundraiser to raise money for the eight families displaced by the recent Cornerstone Apartments fire.
The GoFundMe page was set up to raise money in an effort to assist the families who lost their homes in the recent fire, which took place around 1:3o a.m. on Saturday morning.
Six apartments were destroyed by the fire and two were heavily damaged by smoke and water. No one was harmed in the fire.
"The Homeowners Association's Board of Directors has set up a GoFundMe account to help defer costs of rebuilding the lives of the eight families that were directly affected," said Becky Zech, the organizer of the fundraiser.
As of Thursday morning, the GoFundMe page has raised $1,965 of its $25,000 goal. The funds donated through the page will be received by the Homeowners Association's Treasurer. Funds will then be disbursed at the discretion of the Board.
