WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Several people on a Pennsylvania amusement park ride were trapped upside down for several minutes when the ride unexpectedly stopped Monday, according to a report.
The incident happened on the Aero 360 ride at Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, located near Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported. Riders were stuck upside down for approximately 5 minutes.
Maintenance staff quickly fixed the ride and safely evacuated riders, park general manager Mark Pauls told the Tribune-Review.
"First aid staff met with the guests, with three briefly visiting the First Aid Center as a precaution before being released back into the park," Pauls said. "Safety is our first and foremost priority. The ride remains closed while a review of the incident is conducted."
