Description

Despite their small size, aphids rarely go unnoticed in the garden because where there's one aphid, there's likely hundreds! But despite their vast numbers, aphids rarely pose a significant threat to our native plant gardens, because they are one part of a larger, fascinating ecosystem. Join us as we learn about aphids, their unusual lives, and their many cool predators in this walk and talk with Stoneleigh horticulturist Sam Nestory. Samantha Nestory is a horticulturist and naturalist at Stoneleigh: a natural garden in Villanova, PA where she maintains multiple sections of the garden, coordinates volunteers, and acts as resident entomologist. Samantha's prior experiences include work with Sarver Ecological, an ecological consulting firm based in Wilmington, DE, and the Morris Arboretum. She is passionate about native plants, ecological gardening, and insect conservation, and she is strongly committed to educating the public about these important issues. @stoneleighgarden
