DOYLESTOWN, PA — Police in Bucks County arrested a Doylestown man after he tried to set up a sex meeting with a teenager, officials said.
The Central Bucks Regional Police Department announced William "Billy" Francis Vandeventer's arrest on Tuesday. Police said Vandeventer set up a meeting with a 13-year-old boy at the Center Square Towers apartments on Sunday.
The "boy" was really undercover police.
"Vandeventer started talking to the fictitious boy through a web forum. Police obtained numerous text messages from Vandeventer to the 'boy' requesting sexual acts and including a profile picture of himself," police said.
The 41-year-old was arrested Sunday afternoon on a charge of corruption of minors, which is a third-degree felony, police said.
Vandeventer is in the Bucks County Prison, police said. His bail is set at $15,000.
