Delaware City Marina, a privately owned marina located on the historic C&D Canal has an exciting opportunity for the person who loves the water, boats, boaters and boating. The marina is busy throughout the year with slip holders and visiting guests. This opportunity is full-time. Both seasonal and year-round applicants are encouraged to apply. The Dockmaster is the face of the marina and is the first step in creating a memorable guest experience. The Dockmaster must be a strong and motivating leader responsible for the overall waterside dock operation. This includes scheduling of dockhands, communication with vessel captains, reservations, maintaining overall safety and cleanliness of the marina’s guest areas, fuel operations, concierge service, training of new team members and securing the marina and vessels in the event of inclement weather. Partial weekends are required during the summer season. The most qualified candidates will possess: 1. A Boater’s Certificate valid in the State of Delaware, 2. Proper radio procedures, 3. Superior seamanship 4. Excellent administrative skills 5. Ability to enforce contracts and the marina’s rules and regulations 6. Strong swimming skills 7. Physical strength to stand for long periods of time and repeatedly lift 80 pounds 8. Hav4e a gregarious and positive attitude to warmly welcome guests 9.
