Man Dies After Falling From Arlington Heights Parking Garage: Police

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – A 74-year-old Rolling Meadows man who was found dead in a planter bed next to an Arlington Heights parking garage on Thursday morning, died after falling from the upper level of the structure, police said. Police are withholding the man's identity pending notification of his family, officials said. First responders arrived at the Vail Street municipal parking garage shortly after 10 a.m. after a 911 caller alerted police they had located the man, who was unresponsive. The witness found the man in the planter bed on the east side of the parking garage, police said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and over the course of the investigation, police were able to determine that the man had fallen from the upper level of the parking garage. Police do not believe foul play was involved and are working with the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office on the investigation into the incident. An autopsy will be conducted on Friday to determine the man's cause of death, officials said. Police said they are not providing any more information about the man's death at this time.
