Description
I'm a songwriter/guitarist/singer, and I received an email a week ago asking if my band The Roving Eyes is interested in playing on Make Music Day this year (Sunday, June 26th ). Make Music Day is back after a two year hiatus ( due to Covid ). The Roving Eyes played in Sellwood Park in 2019, and it was a lot of fun. But the problem is, The Roving Eyes broke up, just before Covid hit, and they've all roved their separate ways. So, I need some new players to do this with. I've already been booked for an hour in Laurelhurst Park, starting at 6 pm that day. I just need a good drummer and a good bassist, or guitarist, to get a good sound again. PA equipment is provided. I'll want to play mostly Roving Eyes songs ( I wrote most of them ). and a few cover songs. If things click, we can try to get some other ( paying ) gigs, if you're interested. My main influences are from the 60's and 70's- The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, early Who, Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel, Dylan, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, Bob Seger, Van Morrison, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Tom Petty, 70's soft rock and funk. I also like some 80's music, and some 90's music like Weezer and Cake.... a few newer bands like Summer Salt. Let me know something about your experience level and which songs you liked from the links below ( the songs on Spotify are the same ones on Bandcamp. There are more songs on the Bandcamp ). One of the ones I'd like to do is "In Oregon." There are also a couple I'd like to do that aren't on there. Any music links you can send are appreciated. It pays $200 solo, or $250 for a duo. If it goes well, there will be repeated bookings. I'm going to play mostly cover songs for this gig, mostly on my electric guitar, and some on my acoustic. I could do this gig solo, but I'd rather have a fuller sound, and it would be more fun that way. I probably don't want a drummer for this, but a bass player, lead guitarist, or a keyboardist would be nice.
