Drivers for moving and delivery company needed. Requirements: Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be able to lift and carry at least 100 pounds. Must work well with others. Must be honest, have integrity, and be healthy enough to pass a basic medical examination. Must have a clean back ground check for occasional military access. Must be able to pass a drug test, if asked. Skills needed: CDL training is helpful, although CDL is not required. Must obey all traffic laws. Must practice safe and defensive driving. Must have strong building skills with a delicate touch. Must be able to follow basic step by step written and diagramed instructions. Must have strong customer service and communication skills. Major Duties: • Performing pre-trip vehicle and cargo inspections and inventory counts for his/her own vehicle and be able to explain all aspects. • Knowing and understanding of how to maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion. Also knowing Proper signaling, Searching for hazards, controlling speed, Lane Positioning, and Matching speeds to road conditions (when wet, dry, icy, or congested). Safely driving vehicle in day-time or night-time conditions. • Safely loading and unloading all equipment/materials over all terrains and properly secure all loads. • Keeping track of routine fueling, lubricating and servicing of vehicles. • Traveling (Sometimes in excess of 100 miles from home base) to job sites and working outdoors. • Receiving and completing task given by direct supervisor, manager or team leader whether at home base or on a job sight. • Often lifting and carrying up to and over 100lbs. • Perming all the above functions in a safe and timely manner in order to complete all tasks with zero personal injury, equipment and cargo damage, or property damage. Workers for this position are basically on call and are scheduled based on the amount of jobs scheduled and work performance. Full-time and overtime hours are expected on most days.
