Dog needs a home

Our family found a dog over a month ago and haven't been able to contact his owners. He had a collar with the name diesel, but nothing else. We have several cats and we've been trying so many different tactics to help all the animals get along. Diesel is great with other animals. He won't bother the cats, they instigate and attack him sometimes. He's GREAT with kids and other dogs. I don't want to take him to a shelter. I will try every other avenue to find a home for him. Diesel is not hyper. He is house broken. We found that he understands simple commands like "sit", "stay", "outside" "treat" and "come". He's a good boy and if we could keep him forever we would, but I know our home with all the cats isn't the best place for him. He needs a loving home.
