Seeking Guitars & Drums for Female-fronted 90’s cover band - The Proposition - seeks lead guitar, rhythm guitar and drums for fun and (probably not much) profit! We are a bassist and vocalist in our 40s with decades of experience, a climate-controlled rehearsal space, full P.A., and venue connections. The desire is to have some musical fun and make a little cash doing a couple of local gigs a month, all with the understanding that most (if not all of us) have families, jobs and other outside responsibilities. Chemistry, enthusiasm, diligence and talent are more important than lots of stage experience, but an active stage presence and image is certainly desirable. Guitarists should have the FX to approximate the styles being covered, however we’re NOT trying to sound exactly like the recordings. Rehearsals are once weekly (day of the week TBD) and it’s the time to bring your practiced, prepared part to the band as a whole. Please respond with files or links to audio/video of you doing your musical thing. If you don’t have any, record some video on your cell phone right now! Auditions will be held in June. An initial 3-set song list is ready to go of music all released in the 1990s. Half of our songs were originally recorded by women, so our female lead will cover 90%+ of the songs. If you can throw in some good harmonies, all the better.
