Position Overview The Welder is responsible for building and constructing props and furniture for events and the company. The Welder reports to the Warehouse Manager and takes direction from the Warehouse Assistant Manager, Warehouse Lead and Welding Shop Lead. Essential Duties • Welds, builds and constructs custom props and furniture according to design specifications. • Works with welding staff to ensure production flows smoothly and the welding shop meets established production deadlines. • Prepares props and furniture for events to include but not limited to: wrapping fabric and vinyl, drilling holes, bolting, hammering, hand and spray painting. • Assists in managing supplies/inventory to include making sure supplies/inventory are in stock according to production needs and are used efficiently, organized and stored appropriately. • Wraps furniture and props for delivery. • Cleans and sweeps work space to ensure workspace is organized, safe and free from obstacles and debris. • Level 2 Welders require more extensive welding knowledge and experience and take on increasingly complex and complicated welding projects. • Tracks and enters time and assigns hours and tasks to appropriate events and jobs in time and attendance system. • Completes all Human Resources and Payroll tasks and notifications through the Employee Self Service Online Portal on a weekly basis, as directed and within established timelines. • Complies with all department and company safety guidelines, procedures and rules. • Completes all safety training as directed and within established timelines. • May perform other duties as required. Qualifications • Welding experience preferred. • Ability to understand, read and speak simple English. • Good verbal communication skills to communicate successfully with the Warehouse team. • Ability to interpret pull sheets. • Familiarity with proper packing methods is helpful. • Must be able to provide the following tools for use during the work shift: wire cutter and utility knife. • Good knowledge and ability to use tools and equipment that may include: Welding machine, band saw, pipe bender, grinder, portable band saw, torch, press drill, drills, hammer, screwdriver, hand drill, tape measure, dollies, and 8 foot and 12 foot ladders. • Ability to work flexible schedules to include evenings and weekends. Physical and Work Environment Requirements • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend and reach during entire work shift. • Able to walk 30% of the work shift. • Ability to work with hands and arms during entire shift. • Must be able to move and climb ladders without accommodation. • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull 30-40 lbs. throughout the shift. Occasionally may move up to and over 100 lbs. with assistance. • Ability to handle metal and fragile items safely. • Must have 20/20 vision with correction. • Must be able to tolerate cold, heat and humid conditions. • May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals throughout the work shift. • Ability to tolerate moderate noise.
