Description
The Nebraska long-term care volunteer program is looking for more people! If you love working with the elderly community in a licensed nursing home setting, this program is for you. This is an ideal opportunity for retired seniors and students. We are looking for volunteers in Lancaster and surrounding counties in southeast Nebraska.
Volunteer ombudsman program representatives provide invaluable advocacy with and for residents in long-term care facilities in their local communities. Program representatives advocate with and for individuals residing in nursing homes.
Initial training includes 36 hours on topics such as the history and role of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman program, residents’ rights, effective communication skills, resident-directed advocacy, investigating and resolving complaints, and reporting requirements.
Our next volunteer ombudsman training is June 27 – June 29. Please email
for more information.
