Job Description: Using a forklift truck, the Material Handler performs a combination of tasks including: -Material handling to stack, transport, and move to storage -Supplies converting production cells with efficient flow of corrugated board and materials -Ensure optimal production efficiencies are met in alignment with our internal and external customer’s expectations -Hours include 1st & 2nd shift Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Monitor production runs throughout shift to determine on-going staging sequence. Notifies Shift Supervisor when materials are running low or damaged. • Operate forklift by moving levers, controls, hoists, and/or clamp attachment, to ensure timely and accurate receiving, scanning, loading/unloading, stacking, stocking, transportation and delivery of materials or finished product. • Keep the warehouse well organized with material and stock in assigned locations, clearly labeled and marked with correct information, and all tags facing the same direction. Follow first in first out procedure. • Perform routine inspection/maintenance on trucks and record data as necessary on required inspection documents. • Assist Shipping department as needed loading and loading trailers and rail cars. Verifies truck drivers have properly checked trucks. • Comply and follow all health/safety rules and regulations. • Other duties may be assigned. Education/Experience: • High School Diploma or equivalency, • At least 1 year of experience operating a forklift truck in a warehouse environment. Skills/Abilities: • Problem Solving - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. • Mathematics - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of board, bundles per pallet, linear feet, weight measurement, dimensions, volume and distance. • Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. • Ability to use tools such as: Tape measure, Sit down forklift truck, Box cutter, Scanner, Data base user interface and query software, Harry Rohdes Company Benefits: • Competitive hourly pay with opportunity for over-time. • Start accruing Paid-Time-Off on your first day, up to 48 hours a year. • 10 company paid holidays per calendar year. • Eligible for company benefits including health, vision, dental, basic life/AD&D, supplemental life, short-term and long-term disability, 401(k) retirement plan, and flexible savings account.
