In the Biobehavioral Pediatric Pain Lab, we are investigating why some women with endometriosis develop chronic pain. To do this, we are recruiting females between the ages of 12-44 who have surgically confirmed endometriosis or are seeking surgical confirmation of endometriosis, and are in the Greater Boston Area to participate in our research study, as well as healthy females aged 12-44 with no history of endometriosis. We are especially looking for 12-17 year olds who have and/or don't have a diagnosis of endometriosis. You may be eligible to participate if you are: - Female sex assigned at birth - Between the ages of 12-44 years old - Have not undergone menopause - Have not had a hysterectomy and/or oophorectomy - Are not taking opioid analgesics - Are English-speaking Participation in this study includes a 2.5 to 3-hour visit to our lab at Boston Children’s Hospital or the Boston Children's Hospital location in Brookline, where you would undergo a non-invasive brain scan & non-invasive sensory tests on your skin. During the study visit, you will also be asked to complete several questionnaires about your emotions, your childhood, any traumatic event history, your experiences with pain, pain sensitivity, feelings about pain, and if you have a diagnosis of endometriosis, your experience living with endometriosis.
