Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free health screening on Monday, June 27th from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 441 Heymann Boulevard in Lafayette. Guests will receive a complimentary Electrocardiogram (EKG) and Thermal Imaging Screenings. An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages, the thickness of the heart wall, past heart attacks and more. Thermal imaging screening which uses new technology that can detect venous insufficiency. Results will be reviewed on site. Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.
