SUDBURY, MA — Three Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School students have been awarded National Merit scholarships sponsored by colleges and universities across the U.S. Lincoln-Sudbury seniors Nicola Donlan, Madison Johnson and Joy Ren will get up to $2,000 per year toward tuition. Donlan and Johnson both plan to attend Tufts University, and Ren will attend Brandeis University. The National Merit Scholarship Corp. awards a number of different scholarships each spring, with some sponsored by the merit corporation itself and others sponsored by corporation. The scholarships announced this week are sponsored by each student's college of choice. Each fall, more than 15,000 students get picked as National Merit semifinalists. Those students then become eligible for awards in the spring near graduation. A total of six Lincoln-Sudbury students made it to the semifinalist round.
