STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Pride has announced their annual Pride Month calendar of events for this month. The activities feature both family-friendly and age appropriate events in hopes to raise awareness and visibility for the LGBTQ+ communities throughout Stamford and Fairfield County. "We are incredibly excited and grateful to have the opportunity to work with our community partners and sponsors on several Pride events and activities this year," said Stamford Pride President Chris Koutsovitis in a news release. "Our hope is that by providing safe, friendly and fun programming for the community, we can continue to uphold our mission as a nonprofit organization that engages, inspires, supports and celebrates LGBTQ+ members and allies through initiatives that educate, connect, and enrich our diverse community." To kick off the month, this year's programs include the lighting of Old Town Hall in downtown Stamford on June 1 at 9 p.m., preceding a flag raising ceremony at the Stamford Government Center on June 2 at 12 p.m. In partnership with local community organizations and sponsors, other featured events include a Drag Brunch at Mexicue; "Disaster!" The Musical presented by the talented players at Curtain Call at the Kweskin Theater; Rainbow Rave for high school students at The Stamford Hotel; an Art Reception and a Literary Speaker at the Ferguson Library and more. Visit the Stamford Pride website for more information and a full list of events. Purchases for ticketed events can be completed through Stamford Pride's Eventbrite.
