Description

Geneva Lake Conservancy offers annual summer nature classes for children every year. Each session explores a different outdoor topic, such as: insects, wildflowers, soil, etc., and ends with a nature craft project! Topics change each week, so please visit our website or Facebook page to read about each class. Class topics will be released at the beginning of each month. Parents are encouraged to stay for the duration of the classes. JUNE CLASSES: June 10: Make-your-own-terrarium! We'll show you how a terrarium works, then teach you how to create your very own (using soil from our worm-digging bin!) that you get to bring home. June 17: Bug scavenger hunt! We'll take you on a hunt through the Fishing Park for all kinds of insects and learn how each of them play an important part in our ecosystem! June 24: Make Mud Art! Join us as we learn about soil - then turn it into mud and create beautiful art with it! July and August Classes TBD. Please bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Nature classes meet at the story time circle at Helen Rohner Children's Fishing Park. You can get there by entering the pedestrian entrance at Kishwauketoe and turning right onto the mulched trail. You'll see a sign for the Fishing Park on your right along the trail.
