DANBURY, CT — Police charged two men following an investigation Tuesday morning, after receiving complaints the men had been seen pointing a paintball gun at children waiting for the bus.
The Danbury Police Department has identified the men as Justin Balzarini, 26, of Vista Street in Danbury; and Elijah LaPenga, 20, of South Avenue in New Milford.
Officers recovered a paintball gun from the car described in the initial complaint, according to Det. Lt. Mark Williams. Police made the arrest at a Danbury residence.
"One of the arrested parties admitted pointing the paintball gun at people, and the other admitted to his involvement," Williams said. Both men denied the gun was loaded.
Police charged Balzarini and LaPenga with first-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace, illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, and three counts of conspiracy to commit each of the offense. The men are being held on a $100,000 bond, pending release to the courts.
