Description

STERLING, VA — Students were evacuated from Potomac Falls High School on Wednesday afternoon after school officials received a written bomb threat, authorities said. Students were also dismissed early as police searched the school. Authorities have asked that parents do not come to the school on Wednesday afternoon, unless they are picking up their child. "This will slow the dismissal and make it more difficult to account for students as they depart the campus," according to an update from Loudoun County Public Schools. "We ask that those parents who usually pick up their students for patience and to follow law enforcement direction through the bus loop." On Facebook, the school system said all students were accounted for. Officials also noted that school staff provided food and water to students as they waited for the early dismissal. The school system said they would release another update later when police determine it is safe for students and staff to reenter the building and retrieve belongings. Anyone with more information about the written bomb threat can call Detective Rodrigues at 703-777-1021.
