LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Several crimes were reported around Loudoun County over the holiday weekend, including gunshots fired at an Ashburn apartment. Other notable incidents included multiple assaults with pellet guns. The first incident with a pellet gun was reported on Saturday night in Aldie, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Around 11 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Trailhead Drive and Foxtail Fields Drive to investigate. A man told deputies that while he was driving, a white SUV pulled up alongside him. The occupants of the SUV then began to shoot the man's vehicle with pellets, police said. The man believed that the occupants of the SUV were children, but authorities did not provide a description of them. A similar assault occurred on Monday evening in Ashburn. A man told police that his family was outside of their home on Sullivans Cove Square when a vehicle pulled up. Someone inside the vehicle then shot pellets at the man and his family, police said. No injuries were reported, and the man said the vehicle may have been a light metallic Honda Civic. On Tuesday in Ashburn, authorities received a report of gunshots in the 21700 block of Omeara Terrace. Around 3 a.m., deputies responded to an apartment and determined that it had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported, police said. "This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no indication that this is connected to previously reported gunfire cases in the Ashburn area," the sheriff's office said in its report on Tuesday.
