Description

By John Gibson, WNIN June 1, 2022 Nearly 200 new COVID-19 infections and two more COVID-related deaths have been recorded in western Kentucky. The Green River District Health Department tallied 197 new cases in the seven-county district last week. That's an average of about 28 new infections a day, and does not include positive results that may have been recorded during at-home tests. The two fatalities were from Henderson and Daviess Counties. The numbers very nearly matched the district's report from a week ago, indicating the virus is still active. Officials urge residents to stay up to date on COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, follow CDC recommendations for isolation and quarantine, and if you're immunocompromised or high-risk, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask or take other precautions.
