Press release from Village of Vernon Hills: During the May 3 Village Board Meeting, Trustees formally proclaimed June 2022 as Pride Month in Vernon Hills. The Village of Vernon Hills works to create a welcoming, inclusive, equitable, accepting and safe community for all people. In that effort, June has been proclaimed and recognized as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Pride Month in the Village of Vernon Hills. Further, members of the community are charged with eliminating prejudice wherever it exists by accepting all residents as equal as we honor our diversity through celebrating our LGBTQ+ residents. Thank you to members of the community – including students at VHHS – for bringing the importance of celebrating Pride Month to the forefront, and for identifying ways to express support.
